Justin Malooly & Christian Salcedo
KINETRA was founded in early 2025 by Justin Malooly, a Biomedical Engineering student at The University of Texas at Austin, and Christian Salcedo, a Biomedical Sciences student at The University of Texas at El Paso.
Our vision began with our friend Ryan Medrano, a Paralympian whose experiences in adaptive sports opened our eyes to how underrepresented the adaptive community truly is. Ryan gave us the perspective that sparked KINETRA and showed us the importance of creating something that puts adaptive athletes at the center.
Today, KINETRA is growing beyond apparel. We are building a platform focused on adaptive media, apparel, engineering, and medical innovation. With Justin's background in Biomedical Engineering and Christian's background in Biomedical Sciences, we want to use our education and future careers to contribute directly to the adaptive community.
Our goal is not simply to create products. We want to combine science, engineering, medicine, creativity, and storytelling to help advance opportunities, technology, and representation for adaptive athletes. We believe our backgrounds give us a unique opportunity to approach adaptive sports from both a scientific and human perspective.
KINETRA is our commitment to turning the vision Ryan first gave us into something that can create lasting impact.
